Agartala is the capital and a top tourist destination in the state. The city houses a number of tourist attractions like the Ujjayanta Palace, Maharaja Bir Bikram College, Akhaura Border, Rose Valley Park, Tripura Government Museum, Temple of Fourteen Gods, and Malanchya Nivas.
This princely mansion was constructed by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya from 1899 to 1901. The mansion has two floors and features wonderful architecture. There are three tall domes and the middle one has an elevation of 86 feet. There are gardens and pools inside adorned with Mughal design. It is currently home to the Vidhan Sabha and there are fountains and illuminations to enhance its charm.
This museum was set up in 1970 and is located in the center of the city. You will find a number of rare coins and portraits in this museum which bear testimony to the magnificent history of Tripura and other bordering states.

This college was designed and set up by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the final memorable ruler of the state in 1947.
