Jammu & Kashmir is the northernmost state in India. The whole territory of Jammu and Kashmir can be divided into three regions and they are Jammu, Ladakh, and Kashmir valley. All these regions can be again split into 22 districts. For its vibrant scenic beauty, the province is often referred to as the Switzerland of Asia. The state houses a number of valleys including the Tawi valley, Kashmir valley, Poonch valley, Chenab valley, Lidder valley and Sind valley. The state of J&K is famous for its scenic beauty, beautiful monuments and temples, diverse flora and fauna, and friendly populace.

The state of Jammu & Kashmir is situated between 32° 44′ North latitude and 74° 54′ East longitude. Jammu & Kashmir shares its domestic boundaries with Punjab and Himachal Pradesh towards the south and international boundaries with the People’s Republic of China to the north and east and at the same time, Pakistan edges it to the west and northwest.

By Air: The Budgam airport lies at a distance of 15 km from Srinagar, the summer capital of the province. There are different airlines that offer regular flights to Srinagar from Jammu and Delhi, including Indian Airlines.
