Udaipur Airport, Jaipur International Airport, and Jodhpur Airport are the three major airports in the state. These airports join Rajasthan with all the important Indian metros like Mumbai and Delhi. Jaisalmer and Kota also have airports, however commercial/passenger operations have not started yet.
Railways join Rajasthan with all the principal Indian cities. The main railway stations of the state are Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Three Rajdhani Expresses serve the sole electrified segment of Kota city and there are train services across all important cities. The Thar Express is an international train service which runs from Karachi to Jodhpur. Nonetheless, this is not available for international tourists at the present time. Overnight trains are available from Mumbai and Delhi. Palace on Wheels and Royal Rajasthan on Wheels are two luxury special trains to tour the whole state.
There are a number of national highways that join Rajasthan with different other parts of India. The most prominent among them is NH 8, and it is the oldest 4–8 lane expressway in India. There is also an inter-city surface transport scheme in the state which comprises both bus and railway network. All the main cities enjoy good accessibility via rail, air, and road.
National and State Highways join Rajasthan with the major cities of the nation such as Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Indore. Private operators and Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) ply buses to different parts of the state.
